Although we have seen Artificial Intelligence act on tasks such as removing elements from a photo or creating images of cats from scratch, it is in fields such as medicine that we notice really powerful contributions. Based on this, Google will offer the diagnosis of skin diseases through your smartphone.

It is a project based on Artificial Intelligence, which will be in charge of making preliminary diagnoses about skin conditions, through photographs.

As always, among the things that the company has made clear is that the app does not seek to replace medical diagnoses. This project began after reviewing the enormous number of searches on the web for information on dermatological lesions. These days, it is common that when having some strange symptom, the first thing we do is search on Google. However, this implies that we will spend a lot of time in front of the screen looking for specific information. In this way, Google searches for the diagnosis of skin diseases with the development of this service that will provide the best information in this regard.

The application is the product of 3 years of training to the Artificial Intelligence model with more than 6500 images. In this way, you are able to find matches between the photos that are uploaded and those that you keep in your knowledge base.

Its operation will be based on taking 3 photographs of the affected region at different angles. The app will be in charge of finding the matches to diagnose skin diseases, showing complementary information that will help you understand what it is about. However, as we mentioned before, the idea is to have a preliminary idea, but not to replace medical diagnoses.

So far the app is not completely ready, however, Google indicates that by the end of the year will begin with its deployment.
