With Windows 10 May 2021 Update already among us, now all eyes are focused on what we can see arrive with the 21H2 branch or what is the same, Windows 10 Sun Valley. It must reach the end of the year, offering a good number of novelties and one of them is the possibility to customize the background and keys that we use on the on-screen keyboard.

In the same way that it happens with some keyboards on Android, Window 10 will offer, through the fall update, the ability to modify keyboard layout changing the fund we use. And now more details of this new option have been discovered.

Windows Latest colleagues have been responsible for discovering a folder with some of the options that users will have when customizing the virtual keyboard that we use on the screen.

In the latest build for the 21H2 branch from the Insider Program, a directory has been discovered that contains images to create a custom keyboard to a light theme and another to a dark theme.

The new folder has the name “touchkeyboard” and is a subdirectory of the Wallpaper folder in Windows 10. A total of eight wallpapers appear in this folder. There are four funds, with two varieties each for dark and light mode.

Furthermore, users also they can choose a different color for the keys thanks to the use of a color picker that can be used to create custom colors. In summary, these are the options that users will have:

  • You can change the size and scale of the virtual keyboard.
  • You can set a background image and change the opacity
  • A key and a label color can be set
  • You can set a color for the keys.
