“‘There’s nothin’ to beat hot sweet tea when you’ve had a shock.’” 💙

So…: this one didn’t quite work for me. It took 80% of the book to get anywhere. It was so slow, I kept telling my daughter, “nothing has happened!” Towards the end it picked up but it was a major case of too little, too late. I can see why it’s a good beach read because you can totally put it down and not really miss much and then pick it back up again so it requires very little work. And I love the cover!! This was my first Ware novel and I’ll definitely read some more by her because she is so beloved by many, maybe this was a fluke! 2.5 stars ⭐️⭐️💫 I read along last month with hosted by ashleylovesreading0728 and minnesota_mailer !   1. I really want to like her – I’ve seen her in person and she’s lovely – but her books are slow for me.

  2. I had mixed feeling about this one. I remember being irked about some self talk she had while locked in a room. Some misrepresentation or anxiety or simplifying mental health.
