“Sydney clicked on the radio in the kitchen, the sun from the day still on her skin, and pulled out Aunt Clara’s lemon bar recipe.” 💛

Very similarly to the first book in this series, I think it’s a perfectly fine beach romance you could pick up at your local grocery store while on vacation and enjoy. But while the first book had some emotional moments, this one just felt really unbelievable to me. It’s definitely got the second chance at love trope so if you like those stories this may appeal to you but it was way too conveniently tied up and wrapped in a bow. Again, that will definitely appeal to some readers a lot (especially in difficult times like now when you just want an escape read) but for this ultimate realist, it was a bit hard to swallow. It’s always a fun time reading this with thechicklitbookclub crew and it’s really a lovely experience to chat with authors after we read it! Gives us such perspective of where they’re coming from and where they draw inspiration from. 💛
