RTE has announced a new national breakfast program, starting Monday, May 31 on RTÉ 2FM.
Doireann Garrihy will continue to host the new 3-hour show, and will be joined by two new co-hosts, 2FM hosts Donncha O’Callaghan and Carl Mullan, who will replace Eoghan McDermott at the helm.
RTÉ announced more than a month ago that 2FM was creating a new breakfast show with Doireann.
His two co-hosts are familiar voices for the station; Donncha O’Callaghan, former Irish international rugby ace, hosts Game On on RTÉ 2FM and has also appeared as a coach on Ireland’s Fittest Family on RTÉ One.
Instagram comedian and RTÉ Player host Carl Mullan already enjoys a great working relationship with Doireann after working with her on The Doireann Project.
RTÉ 2FM Director Dan Healy said: “This is an exciting new breakfast show for RTÉ 2FM with two new voices for breakfast radio joining Doireann. Carl Mullan is “absolutely excited to be a part of the new program.
He said: “I joined the station in 2013 fresh out of college and since then this has always been the dream concert. We are so excited to bring lots of laughs and good vibes to start everyone’s day.”
Donnacha O’Callaghan added that the show was going to be “unbelievably fun.”
