“Mother doesn’t say anything, but begins peeling an orange as if it’s responsible for all our family’s woes, juice squirting onto the tablecloth.” 🧡

This was a super fast read for me and while it was a great October read for the creepy atmospheric setting, it was definitely more coming of age than anything witchy which is what I was expecting! It also read like YA to me in both writing and story. I’d recommend this for people who want to get into some spooky fall reads but don’t want to read anything really scary or too creepy but just want enough to get into the spirit of the season. Read along with hosted by barkingaboutbooks thechroniclesofkate and theschadlershelves 🧡

  1. I read this one awhile back. I thought it was a great fall read. Spooky, but not too scary. (I am a wimp when it comes to scary stuff. 🤷🏻‍♀️)
