5 amazing stars for this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a perfect example of how successful dual timelines can work. It’s a story of Nazi-occupied Poland through the experiences of a 15 year old girl and it’s also the story of a present day woman trying to figure out her family history in the midst of parenting challenges and marriage challenges. Who has time to delve into a family history when your current family needs you in the present? Well, it’s a wonderful journey to find the link between the two storylines. It’s a book about resilience, faithfulness, family, compassion and love. Yes, all of that in one book and I could probably list a few more themes too! Basically, as a reader, this book embodied all the things I love in a story. Pick this one up. And grab some tissues too! This was the pick a few months ago (hosted by booksandmargs) that I wasn’t able to read on time but so glad I held onto it to finish ! 💙
