“‘I’ll have eggs and bacon,’ he answers after a beat. ‘Black coffee, too, please.’” ❤️

This is a story of 3 women in the 1930s whose paths converge in Key West, FL one Labor Day weekend. It’s also exactly when a huge hurricane threatens the area. I love that a Cleeton book makes you want to keep turning pages. They go by fast and bring a sense of the time and place it’s being written about. You can tell a lot of research goes into each book because of the details that bring the story to life. Some of the book felt a little predictable but it was still a lot of fun. It’s the perfect beach read because it goes fast, sucks you in but doesn’t require too much mental energy to follow along. I don’t say that as a dig, I think we need books that can be easily read sometimes. The book lends itself perfectly for a sequel or two and I’ll definitely be reading it if that happens!
I ordered my signed copy from fountainbookstore and got this really cute tote ! Love!!!! My second signed Cleeton book! ❤️

  1. I preordered this book too! And I agree, sometimes we need books that can be easily read. I enjoyed this one! ❤️

  2. I’ve never read anything by Chanel Cleeton, but I’ve been hearing good things! I feel you – we really do need some good books that aren’t too taxing mentally at times.
