“I reached for the fortune cookies in the middle of the table and cracked one open.” 💙

Another fun with thechicklitbookclub ! The Renaissance Faire setting in this book really won me over. At first, I was skeptical that I’d really like a book about a Ren Faire but that ended up being my favorite part of this book! The descriptions, the fun reenactments – I’m ready to head to one now! But alas, this is a romance and that’s the part of the book I didn’t love. Simon and Emily kinda frustrated me and kinda bored me. When they were Pirate and Wench at the faire, I loved them but in real life, they just didn’t have the same charm for me. Their back and forth feelings and stunted communication is what I find frustrating about romance at times – just say what you want to say!! But overall, it’s a fun and light read and the setting really won it over for me. 💙
