Social networks have long battled fake accounts and profiles, one of them, Twitter, has resumed the verification fight. That blue badge that appears next to the username can now be searched again via request. The essential requirements are: be active, authentic and be in the public interest. Today we show you on iOSMac how you can verify your Twitter account under the new May 2021 rules.
Does your profile meet what is necessary to be verified?
By the way, do you know what was the reason why Twitter stopped its account verification for a while? In 2017, Twitter verified the account of a user named Jason Kessler. Nothing more and nothing less than a supremacist organizer from the United States, unfortunately the movement claimed the life of one person.
Things have changed since then. The system has become stricter and now we will give you the precise information you should know. One of the main things about Twitter to be verified is that the profile must belong to certain categories, have a significant number of followers, in addition to other external criteria that can be helpful.
Let’s start at the beginning, the basic things that you have to accredit are the following:
- Verified email address or phone number
- A profile picture
- A profile name.

To verify the account, Twitter will ask for the following:

-ID Verification: Provide a photo of an official identification document issued by the Government, such as your driver’s license or passport.
-Official email address: Provide an official email address with a domain relevant to the notoriety category you choose.
Finally, your account could meet all the above requirements but you have to consider that Twitter takes into account all recent activity, including locks as indicated in the following paragraph:
