“Dad turns to look at me from his seat at the table, his big hands curled around a cup of tea.” 💙

So torn on this because I loved the love interest, Jake SOOOO much but really couldn’t stand our main girl, Leila! The whole time I felt like she didn’t deserve Jake so I wanted to keep them apart! It was a fun read in that sense because I had such strong feelings about it but alas, while Leila did have some growth, she did not win me over. I did love the idea of the charm bracelet and the meaning behind life’s milestones. If you enjoy books where you see chracters grow up with time, this one might be a good one for you. Most of thechicklitbookclub members really enjoyed this one ! Missed the author chat but it was a fun one to read together with all of the theories early on! 💙

  2. Thanks for your honest review & great visual @readtotheend (tea solves most things!) 🙌🏼 I agree Jake is much easier to love than Leila – her development is more of a slow burn 📖 Pleased that you had such strong feelings about Jake & enjoyed the story elements, even if Leila wasn’t for you! 😊
