“But it seemed she was destined to remain here with her tiny fridge- which, despite its size, remained embarrassingly empty, containing only a bottle of Chardonnay and a few sticks of string cheese.” – 💛

ALL the stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The author nails parenthood, family and sibling relationships. I loved spending time with the Sorensen family. I’m so impressed with this debut novel – the author has wisdom beyond her years – kind of how I felt about A Place For Us. The characters are so incredibly well written and so believable in their flaws and challenges. I loved the Chicago-Iowa connection as I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and went to college in Iowa. This will definitely be in my top 10 for this year! I loved this so much I joined 2 buddy reads for this – in Oct and in Nov because there’s so much to talk about and discuss ! 💛

  1. I loved this book too! ❤️ I live in Oak Park, so I loved the sense of place. I met the author here and she is as delightful as the book! It’s one of my top reads this year for sure!

  2. I received this in October but it is still on my shelf. My lovely children go through my public wish list and purchase books for me on all the gift-giving holidays! November and December are slow reading months so i am excited to dig in to this one in January!!

  3. I missed this review! I loved this book so much. Along with A Place For Us, it is one of my very favorite books that I read this year.
