“As we were leaving his place last night, Fred pulled me aside and expressed concern that Mikey’s internal organs were going to disintegrate, given that he seems to subsist on a diet of Crunchwrap Supremes from Taco Bell, so I don’t know if this is a huge compliment.” 💙

Loved this one! So cute, so fun but it had a realness to it that didn’t make it cloyingly sweet. I loved Chloe because she was real – she has stuff to deal with, including a father who with Alzheimer’s and an absent mom. She’s got bills to pay, she’s going to school and a bestie whose life is taking off in Hollywood as a screenwriter. But through it all, she’s holding it together, being responsible but not allowing any room or time for love. I was rooting for Chloe and I really understood the load she was carrying. So human and realistic. And her love interest? SWOON. I am all the way. I wish I could go to his coffee shop just to lay eyes on this fictional man! This book did have a more serious tone than the first Waiting for Tom Hanks book but it was still a lot fun and there’s a lot of pie!!! I had the best time reading this with thechicklitbookclub and did my first zoom with them with our special guest … kerrywinfrey who was so sweet and gracious with her time !!!! It was an amazing time and a fun way to wrap up our reading is the book! Thanks readingwithremy for the pic of most of us 💙

  1. I read Waiting for Tom Hanks last year and really enjoyed it, so I can’t wait to grab this one!
