“And then we’ll go out and get some ice cream. Though I probably shouldn’t- not good for the waistline, after all- I’ve got my eye on the mint chocolate chip.” 💙

Oh my! After I turned the last page, I just wanted to give this book the biggest hug…. In this fantastical book, Linus Baker, a forty year old solitary caseworker at the Department in Charge Of Magical Youth is summoned by Extremely Upper Management (ha, love that!) to report on an orphanage on Marsyas Island where 6 magical children live with a caretaker. This journey is about love, acceptance and belonging and everyone can read a story that reminds us of those things, no? This book is so well loved and for good reason. I think it would make a perfect gift and could be particularly meaningful for people who don’t feel they fit in for some reason or another (most of us at some point)! Can’t wait to discuss this in our hosted by mama_bookshark mamareadsalot and staxsonstaxs 💙
