“…and she got out the bottle of white wine that Bob had put in the refrigerator earlier and opened it and poured a small amount into a mason jar.” 💙

Wow. What a follow up to Olive Kitteridge. I liked Olive Kitteridge but honestly, this newest collection blew me away. It felt like a study in loneliness because I felt that theme weaved itself throughout this collection. Like many other folks, I appreciate Olive’s honesty and candor. Watching her navigate life didn’t make me sad but rather encouraged me to live with the same honesty. Strout is a masterful storyteller and her stories make me want to sit and think more deeply about life. This book seamlessly picks up where Olive Kitteridge left off and after over a decade, I feel that speaks to how well Strout writes. This book will stay with me for a long time. Loved reading along with oprahsbookclub who had great discussion questions for us to do a deeper dive into this masterpiece. 💙

  1. I’ve seen a lot of reviews of this book! Do you think I should read the first one before this one?
